Santa Visits the Caboose
The Valley Park Parks Department invited Santa to stop by the Caboose at Frisco Park again this year for a 2 day visit on December 5th & 6th.
The Parks Department enlisted the help of the American Railway Caboose Historical Educational Society (ARCHES) for the two day visit. ARCHES helpers set up shop at the caboose to assist the kids with getting up and down from the caboose. They handed out coloring books and candy canes for Santa. It was apparent by the looks on their little faces, it became clear real quick the kids sure wanted to spend time with him!
Parks Director Gil DeNormandie reported on Saturday, 221 kids stopped by to take a few pictures, pick up candy, and of course, gently offer a few present requests! Santa was happy so many kids visited him on Saturday and let out a chuckle. Then, when 225 kids stopped by on Sunday, Santa was ecstatic – he chuckled all day long. Santa told Mr. DeNormandie that Valley Park is one of Santa’s favorite stops every year and can’t wait until next year!
