City Receives Upgraded Credit Score

S&P Global Upgrades City of Valley Park’s Credit Rating

“S&P Global Ratings raised its issuer credit rating (ICR) to 'AA' from 'AA-' on the City of Valley Park, Mo. At the same time, we raised our rating to 'AA-' from 'A+' on the city's existing certificates of participation (COPs). In addition, we assigned our 'AA-' long-term rating to the city's series 2022 COPs.”

Mayor Webster said that “It was an excellent feeling to know that an independent party took a detailed look at our city and affirmed the positive growth of our city both financially and operationally.”

The report from S&P Global states that “The upgrade reflects our view of the city's trend of positive operations, with three consecutive surpluses and further strong operational performance expected, reflecting growth in key revenue streams.”
