Election Filing Notice - City of Valley Park

Candidates in order to have their names placed on the April 5, 2022 ballot, must file with the City Clerk’s Office – 320 Benton Street – Valley Park, Missouri during regular business hours beginning Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 at 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closing Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

Filing will be for the following offices:

Mayor                     – Two Year Term

Alderman Ward 1 – Two Year Term

Alderman Ward 2 – Two Year Term

Alderman Ward 3 – Two Year Term

Alderman Ward 4 – Two Year Term

Marshal / Collector - Four Year Term

Mayor – Section 110.020

No person shall be Mayor unless he/she be at least twenty-five (25) years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of the City at the time of and for at least one (1) year next preceding his/her election.

Alderman – Section 110.120

No person shall be an Alderman unless he/she is at least eighteen (18) years of age, a citizen of the United States, and an inhabitant and resident of the City for one (1) year next preceding his/her election, and a resident of the ward from which he/she is elected.

Each candidate will be required to fill out Missouri Department of Revenue Form 5120 – Candidate’s Affidavit of Tax Payments that states the candidate is not delinquent in the filing or payment of any state income taxes, personal property taxes, municipal taxes, real property taxes on their place of residence.  A failure to comply may disqualify you from the ballot.   Please review 115.306, RSMo.

There is a $25 filing fee.
