BE ADVISED: The Prosecutor's Office is NOT part of the Municipal Court.
****As of August 1, 2025****
The Prosecutor’s Office will no longer be accepting information/requests filed via Law Source Live. No Recommendations or Responses will be returned via Law Source Live.
You must submit your paperwork to the proper office for processing. All requests for recommendations MUST be submitted to the Office of the Municipal Prosecutor separately from any court documentation.
NOTE: Per Missouri Supreme Court Rule 37.04, requests for recommendations and entry of appearance and filing information meant for the prosecutor which are submitted to the court will not be forwarded by the court to the prosecutor on behalf of the defendant/defense counsel.
FILING PROCEDURES
On February 5, 2020, the Municipal Court went live with the State of Missouri Court software. Cases filed with the Court after February 5, 2020, will be located on Missouri Case.net. Once a case is filed with the Court it will appear on the Case.net site.
E-filing is required for those cases as located on Case.net for this Court.
If the case was filed with the Court prior to February 5, 2020, you must manually submit your filings with the Court.
(Note: Prosecutor does not have access to the e-filings via Case.net)
REQUESTS FOR RECOMMENDATION and/or DISCOVERY:
Along with your letter requesting recommendation, a copy of the Entry of Appearance as e-filed with the court should be included in the email or mailing.
Any relevant documentation that would assist the prosecutor in making a recommendation, i.e. proof of insurance, registration, reinstatement, etc., should be included.
If discovery is requested, please file a written request with the Prosecuting Attorney by email or mail.
When sending via mail, please provide self-addressed stamped envelope with adequate postage affixed.
ACCIDENT RELATED:
If your client's charge(s) involves a motor vehicle accident, a copy of their insurance card IS NOT SUFFICIENT. You must provide either a letter from your client's insurer verifying proof of settlement or claim with acceptance of liability or proof of restitution.
PLEASE NOTE:
Counsel will receive a written recommendation from the prosecutor by mail. The signed recommendation or other plea form must accompany payment to be accepted by the Court office on the date listed on the recommendation. It is counsel's responsibility to contact the Court to obtain a continuance; the prosecutor does not have the authority to change any court dates.
MOTION/REQUEST FOR CONTINUANCE
The document must be e-filed no later than twenty-four (24) hours PRIOR to the scheduled court date. If submitted on court day, the document may be accepted BUT not granted by the Judge. Court Appearance would be required.
